Baylor Foundation Uganda made significant achievements in medical logistics and supply chain in the year ending June 2023. These achievements improved the availability of essential medicines and other health commodities, leading to better quality of care for patients. The regions have achieved 100% complete ordering and reporting of essential medicines for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, reproductive health, laboratory supplies, and other medical commodities.
Using the ART-ACCESS platform, Baylor Foundation Uganda implemented the CRPDDP (Community Retail Pharmacy Drug Distribution) in all supported regions. This innovative solution helped improve patients’ access to ART and TB treatment through local pharmacies while reducing travel to the central health facility.
RASS (Real-time Commodity Stock Status Reporting System) is a powerful tool that Baylor Foundation Uganda uses to track the availability of essential medicines and other health commodities across all health facilities. In the past year, Baylor Foundation Uganda has averaged 82% for the reporting rates for RASS, one of the country’s best.
We supported using the Rx Solution at 89 health facilities, a software platform that helps improve inventory management and tracking of essential medicines and other health commodities at 89 facilities across all three regions, enabling the availability of essential supplies on hand.
Baylor Foundation Uganda revived MTCs (Medicines and Therapeutic Committees) in all supported regions. MTCs ensure the rational use of medicines and other health commodities. By restoring these committees, Baylor Foundation Uganda has helped to improve the quality of care for patients.
